Horseshoe How-To: DIY Clay Feathers

We Horseshoe Gals love a good DIY project. Since we're regularly seeking out and trying new DIYs, we thought we'd share some of our favorites with you. First up are "DIY Clay Feathers by Kelli Murray" from the blog 100 Layer Cake.

For those of you who aren't familiar with 100 Layer Cake, it's a beautiful blog dedicated to all things wedding. Many of us at Horseshoe are finding ourselves in that life stage where it feels like everyone we know is getting married and we're either continually attending weddings or serving as bridesmaids. Given this, we're regularly looking for great wedding DIYs and planning tips.

Planning a wedding is stressful; it's so hard to keep costs under control while achieving the look and feel you want for your big day (or when helping your best friend plan hers!). These sweet little clay feathers are easy to make and perfect to use as decorations. You can hang them around the wedding venue or use them as part of the place settings (as Kelli suggests). We also think they would make great bridesmaids gifts!

The clay feathers would also be beautiful as home decor hung throughout your house or placed on surfaces to add interest - so many fun possibilities! Find instructions and the list of materials you'll need to make them here: http://www.100layercake.com/blog/2013/06/07/diy-clay-feathers-by-kelli-murray/
